The Johnstown Milliken Preschool is dedicated to providing a structured learning environment through a curriculum that develops children’s social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language abilities. As a District, we believe that by offering an effective early childhood program, including full-day kindergarten, focused on alignment, coherency, and continuity of programming, we are providing students with a pathway of opportunity to foster lifelong learners who are prepared for the future.
Our preschool participates in Colorado's Early Childhood Outcomes Initiative, Results Matter, using the Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment.

Colorado Preschool Program (CPP)
The Colorado Preschool Program (CPP) is a state funded program designed to provide high quality early childhood education to children for 1-2 years before entering Kindergarten with priority being placed on 4-year-olds. To be eligible, a child must be three (3) on or before October 1 or four (4) on or before October 1 and eligible for kindergarten the following year. In addition, children must be determined to have risk factors set forth by state of Colorado with a focus on children who need language development or who lack overall school readiness. The program is designed to serve children most in need of preschool experiences and for those who may not qualify for other programs. Developmental screening is required to determine eligibility.
The Weld RE-5J School District and Colorado Department of Human Services require the following items to be on file at the preschool within 30 days after entrance into the preschool program:
